Age Concern Stafford & District presently employs over 90 people in a variety of jobs, full-time and part-time. Some posts hours of work are agreed with the worker and therefore are suitable for people with other commitments. Over 100 volunteers regularly give their time to add value to the services we provide. Opportunities for volunteers are many and varied, such as driving a minibus on a Sunday, helping out in the day centres, being a Trustee of the organisation, or helping out On Christmas Day. |

Whatever it is we need your time whether it be a day a week or a couple of hours a month. All staff and volunteers receive induction, training and support throughout their service with Age Concern Stafford & District. |

Help Needed! HOME SUPPORT WORKERS Providing assistance with shopping and housework for elderly people within the community. Various hours available (with basic contracts for 2hrs or 10hrs) in locations within Stafford & Gnosall. Applicants will need to have use of a vehicle. £6.15 per hour plus travel allowance Own telephone essential. We are looking for two motivated individuals to become involved in our successful Staying Active Stafford project which promotes active ageing and community involvement.. STAYING ACTIVE ASSISTANT - 14 hrs per week To oversee present activities in our Gnosall day centre and be involved in its development into an Active Ageing centre. The successful candidate ideally would have an NVQ Level 3 in Care or have supervisory experience, however training will be available to the successful candidate. Access to a car would be desirable as it may be necessary to work in other locations. Closing date : Monday 19th May 2008 STAYING ACTIVE ORGANISER – Fit as a Fiddle Due to a successful national bid to the Big Lottery we are looking to recruit an Organiser to develop structured courses for older people in their own communities, providing exercise sessions, nutritional information, confidence building and encouraging socialising and volunteering. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have an energetic and flexible attitude. A current driving licence and use of a car is essential. CASUAL DRIVERS / ESCORTS / CARE ASSISTANTS Pay Range £5.96 - £6.58 depending on post + 8% to cover holiday entitlement Age Concern Stafford & District are currently recruiting the above posts at Bradbury House in order to meet the continually changing environment we find ourselves in. It is our aim to establish a Casual Workers register to cover sickness/holiday absence and increases in our current Day Care and Community Action services.
GARDENER £6.15 per hr Providing a gardening service for elderly people living within the Stafford Borough You will be responsible for basic gardening tasks and the maintenance of gardening equipment. You will liaise and work with the Home Support Co-ordinator, who may require you to undertake other duties as and when needed. Own car and telephone essential.
